signifance of Baba

The signifance of Baba in the book clear light of day it that Baba is always quiet and never spaeks to anyone in the house but yet still everone in the house still understand his needs.

Baba always play with his pebbles until the pebbles get smooth, he also like to listen to his gramophone that he got from the Hyder Alie's house. As old deli change and the people change Baba doesn't change with it, Baba remains the same all the time. although Baba got a new sound system he wasn'nt intrested in that he still just wanted his old gramophone, but to him it wasn'nt old it was or has become a part of him. The gramophone has become a part of Baba and his llife, the sound of his pebbles has also become a part of the house the sound if it on the ground has become a sound of the house for Baba, Tara, Bim, Raja and Aunt Mira.

Baba to some may be consider challange and cannot do everything but to him he can do what he want to make him happy and when he is happy the rest of the family is happy. Baba brought happeness to the Das family and although he doesnt actually speaks he taught the Das family alot of things like the meaning of family and togetherness.

In Conclusion Baba character is an very important one in the book since he taught them so much about being together and happy. he also taught them that not because something is new that means that it is better than the old one {gramophone}.
